Wine & Gold Country Tour – 10 days :: DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY:

Day 1, Monday. San Francisco to Calistoga (125 miles)
We'll start our adventure by riding across the Golden Gate Bridge into a nearby stand of redwood trees in Muir Woods. We'll wind through scenic Marin County to our first wine country destination — Calistoga.

Day 2, Tuesday. Calistoga
We're in the perfect place for a day of great wine tasting in northern Napa Valley. We'll provide a limousine for the wine lovers. If you'd rather spend the day riding, how about a run to the Sea Ranch for lunch?

Day 3, Wednesday. Calistoga to Downieville (170 miles)
We'll head north on twisty highway 29 towards Clear Lake before crossing the central valley and into the Sierra-Nevada foothills. Our destination is the quaint community of Downieville on highway 49 (named for gold rush '49ers.)

Day 4, Thursday. Downieville to South Lake Tahoe (120 miles)
We'll continue east on highway 49, then turn south towards beautiful Lake Tahoe. We'll ride the scenic west side with a possible side trip to Squaw Valley.

Day 5, Friday. South Lake Tahoe to Jamestown (165)
We'll drop down to the east side of the Sierras, then ride over scenic Carson Pass into the western foothills. There are several fun roads and historic places we can explore on our way to Jamestown.

Day 6, Saturday. Jamestown to Coulterville (165 miles)
We'll continue south on highway 49 before turning east into Yosemite National Park. The natural beauty of Yosemite Valley is amazing! After lunch at the historic Awahnee hotel, we'll leave the park at El Portal in route to the old mining town of Coulterville.

Day 7, Sunday. Coulterville to Sonoma (185 miles)
We'll ride through the fertile farm land of the San Joaquin Valley and into the rolling hills east of San Francisco Bay. We'll cross the Sacramento River on our way to Sonoma in the heart of the wine country.

Day 8, Monday. Sonoma
Again we find ourselves in the perfect place for another day of wine tasting. There are 200+ boutique wineries in the area, so we better get started!

Day 9, Tuesday. Sonoma to Fort Bragg (150 miles)
This is a full day of riding through beautiful wine country as we work our way out to the Northern California coast, through the artist colony of Mendocino, ending the day in the historic fishing and logging town of Fort Bragg.

Day 10, Wednesday. Fort Bragg to San Francisco (175 miles)
We'll spend the entire day riding south along the coast on highway 1. This section isn't as well known as the part of the highway through Big Sur, but it should be! The scenery is great and the road is fun. All good things come to an end, and soon after crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, it will be time to end a great ride and say goodbye to new friends.
